Supporting One Another - Black Owned Businesses

In light of so much heartbreak in 2020, I wanted to focus on shining a light of positivity on some talented Black creatives. Some near, some far. We are going to build on this topic but I saw this listing for some really talented people showcasing their work on Etsy so I’m sharing their link HERE as well as showcase a few blocks below. A way I can help is spreading the creatives content. That is my wheelhouse so its what I know. As a white woman its hard to find the right time to use my voice and my skin’s privilege so I’m a work in progress. I want to be authentic and actually do something, not just post a black square on my Instagram. That seems too easy and like a cop out for REAL action. So again, I’m a work in progress but I’m fully mindful of the conversations that are being had and silence will never be my stance. I stand with all POC in their god given right to freedom and fairness. Our small team at TINY BANDIT is comprised of ⅓ POC. Not something I ever thought about before but in light of what is a hot topic I’m glad my support system is full of a beautiful array of Pantones. Understanding diversity is understanding humanity.

Here a a cool read on the most up and coming Influential African Americans of 2020 posted by The Root, its a good read and worth your time.

Last, but so important in getting this asshole president out > please vote, if you are not registered you can by clicking HERE.

I hope we find a way to stay connected to what matters, the inside of us. Not the outside.

HIGHBROW HIPPIE

Two local beautiful humans here in Venice have a salon (aks sanctuary) that is a bit of a secret -but what isn’t a secret is their vast array of talents. If you’re on the Westside and need some aesthetic TLC, pop into HIGHBROW HIPPIE on Abbot Kinney and catch a glimpse of their wellness shop full of artisan goods as well as teas and juices. You’ll thank me later.
